Jesus Christ is Lord. That truth, proclaimed in unison by the whole Christian world, is the basis of our freedom, because if he is Lord, then nobody else can be.The Founders of America understood that truth, rooted
as they were in the Sacred Scriptures and Faith.
They were revolutionary in as much as they introduced a new form of government, which placed sovereignty not in a monarch but in
the people. And the sovereignty of the people was based in the Sovereignty of God, who created them and gave them their rights. Governments, then, exist to secure those rights – not to give them, edit them, or delete them.
This is why we have freedom in His Kingship. This devotional is based on that conviction, and consists of prayers that we may always understand, protect, and defend
our freedom. The best way, moreover, to defend our freedom is to exercise it without fear. These prayers call for active, informed
involvement of citizens at every level of our government, that they may elect the right individuals and then hold them
accountable as they govern.
