Fr. Frank's Book: Abolishing Abortion, Takes Church and State to Task!
This is not a book for the faint of heart, or those who are looking for an easy way to fight abortion. This is not a book for those who will look to speak up for the unborn, but at the same time to cover themselves either politically or personally. Rather, Fr. Frank Pavone has published a book that is for those who are ready and willing to sacrifice everything to rise up to the most urgent, top priority moral challenge of our day: To end the holocaust of our unborn brothers and sisters being killed by abortion.
The book challenges the state to stop pretending that it has any less duty than to protect all these children from being killed. The book challenges the church to stop making excuses for its inactivity, particularly the excuse that it cannot get involved in politics because it risks losing its tax exemption. The book shatters the mythology behind these excuses. Do not miss this book, which is really a manifesto for the pro-life movement and both asserts principle and advances practical strategies.

Thank you for your kindness in sending me the Priests for Life Study Guide for the document, Living the Gospel of Life, issued by bishops of the United States in 1998. The current controversy regarding Catholic politicians and the issue of abortion underscores how timely and necessary your Study Guide is. While some of the energy surrounding this question is created by the proximity of elections, the situation is one which is the fruit of many years' development, and a true change of heart among Catholic politicians will take much time and effort. I believe the bishops of our country are committed to that process, and the Priests for Life Study Guide will be very helpful in this important undertaking. Thanking you for devoted ministry which gives a voice to the voiceless unborn, I am Sincerely yours in Christ, -- Most Rev. William J. Levada, (previously) Archbishop of San Francisco
If you've ever written to a pro-abortion politician about the right to life, you've probably received a form letter that utilizes one of the several worn-out arguments. This brochure reviews how to answer them.

"Thanks for your [brochure] "Answering Pro-abortion Politicians." It will be a big help in my work." -- Fr. Daniel, OK
Priests for Life and the Ave Maria School of Law co-sponsored a symposium for clergy and attorneys in June of 2003. These symposium papers will give pastors a broader understanding of the law in this area, and assist them to fulfill their mission with greater confidence. There is much that pastors can do to call their congregations to active and informed participation in the political process. In documents like Living the Gospel of Life (1998), the US bishops have articulated such a call with clarity and passion. At the same time, many pastors remain unaware of the extent to which they can speak and act in this arena, and often believe they are far more restricted than the law actually requires.
